Jon Boat Restoration Part # 2 Damage Repair & Paint-Striping-4-Prepping Primer
Now we are getting close into 2 putting primer on our boat & John, we had a few things before we could as fix some holes & start finish striping the color from the rest of the boat, but we did it & we are nearly ready 4 primer moved its good we are nearly time into paint

@hector1130 its tack cloth and he is removing any paint particles that dried before it hit the surface of the car. its another technique to ensure better adhesion for the next coat of paint

My guess is it’s probably rubbing alcohol. What year’s your Blazer? I had an ’89. It was a good truck- got 230k out of that thing.

i realized you didnt your sealer, and i was taught in school to use sealer before you applied paint to prevent primer from bleeding through and sucking the paint whats your opinion on that? jimmo

the actual painting side of a paint job is only about 20% of the work… most of the time goes into the preperation, as jimmo said stone chips and bad repairs look like dog shit and the only way to make it look right is to get it right from the start.. u cant hide a bad prep job under a good spray job, its like trying to lay concrete on a bumpy ass road..

I have heard that for the base coat, you should have approximatly a 50 % overlap. Is it the same with clear? He seems to be going the same area three times. Wouldn’t that cause major runs ?

my car is white but i’m gonna change it to blue, do i have to primer the whole car or just sand an paint on top of old paint? i never paint a car before but i wanna try it in my own car, can you give me some tip of how to paint a whole car please, cheers

what did u just put there to clean all the surface???? thinner Mineral spirit or lacquer?
cuz im painting my s10 blazer im a noob but im learning all i can before doing it so i kidna need al information each process u do like sand clean primer paint clear u know those things… each process by details : )
